Updates

As previously stated, increases in user activity drive the need to update the functionality of Tangst. One of the first changes shifted the site from a weekly archiving system to a monthly listing. More recently, sithgirl has begun limiting the duration of the commenting period available to each new post.

• After spending time during the 2005 Winter Break school holiday archiving all posts and comments on the site for records and backup purposes, sithgirl determined that maintainance of the text archive that way would be impossible without a cap to the commenting period, and limited the time to a month. Originally, users could comment on posts for an indefinite amount of time.


• During the weekend of 14-16 January 2006, sithgirl announced that the commenting period would be further reduced to a week, as few comments are made on posts after they leave the main page of the site. At the time of this change, posts remain visible to visitors on the main page of Tangst for 3 days following their publication.
