Wiki makes me laugh. Hard.
So pretty much our stint on Wiki is doomed.
But you know, we've had fun with our time there. Dan and I now have awesome pics in memoriam. Today's latest development yielded these two beauties.

A lovely warning that completely ignored what the post actually said. The post doesn't say anything about voting. At all. In fact, the first comment basically says that if you do go to the wiki discussion, be rational, be reasonable, be credible, and leave something that's worthwhile. I honestly just think they aren't paying attention anymore. They saw the post and thought, "Oh, obsessive blog fanatics. They MUST be unreasonable! We'll put a stop to that nonsense!" This prejudice and stereotype is evidenced in the next pic.

.....
Yes, because all blogs that get on Wiki before their time mean an abuse of the system. Really, they can just take us off now, before they start insulting the entire blogging community. I'm tempted to post that on a board somewhere. I know a couple of really good fanatical ones. It would be sweet revenge ;-) Especially because since we're a blog, it automatically means we can't spell worth shit. I bet Mrs. A, Ms. C, and Dr. B would LOVE to know that. All our English teachers would be so proud of their writing stars (Hannah and Matthew especially; the Plan B Ninja, who already doesn't like ".org"s, would, I think, plan a slaughter).
But no, we won't be as vindictive as that. Unlike them, I like the informality of our awesomeness. I like that we're a tight knit community, all secretly on the look out for each other, hoping against hope we meet a fellow tangster in the hallowed hallways of our respective schools. I revel in the fact that we're almost cultish. Oh to hell with it, we ARE cultish.
Wiki admin can go screw themselves. According to a couple of articles they do allow, it is possible (I can't link that one, I'd definitely get in trouble).
Happy Tangsting Everyone!
*I also love that I can use their site against them. That's just too much fun on it's own.*

I noticed this too. It kind of pissed me off, but I mean, they're just doing what they do.
Can't blame em.
They're wikipedia, and the more things they have the most it costs them I assume. They'd rather keep it to worthwhile things and not every posting community that random l33t haxx0|2!!!11! kids can come up with.
First thing, if you check the deletion discussion, there's an interesting response to the Warning boldly posted at the top of the discussion. Somewhat amusing, actually.
But onto the topic:
Stereotypes suck, but we're sheltered at Enloe, where we definitely don't have to deal with those. Ever. *sigh*
Sure, we'll be gone from Wikipedia, but I have a local copy of the article saved, so we can give it another go later on. Maybe one day if we get enough press coverage and advertising, we can be a real community like grand old Wikipedia.
On another note, I'm glad to see nobody on our end went and flamed or spammed the discussion. It was nice to see that much decorum, at least.
Oh, and, nice job with all the Wiki links Heather :-)
Amen... amen
